The First Deputy Minister of Defence of Georgia is paying a working visit to the Italian Republic.
In Rome, at the Naval Palace, Paata Patiashvili held a meeting with his Italian counterpart, Matteo Perego di Cremnago, to discuss key aspects of bilateral defence cooperation between Georgia and Italy.
The discussions focused on the current momentum of cooperation and avenues for its further consolidation and expansion.
The sides underscored the importance of sustained high-level dialogue and consultations as a cornerstone for strengthening the existing partnership and deepening mutual trust. Regional security developments and current challenges were also addressed during the meeting.
The parties agreed to continue advancing cooperation in priority areas aimed at enhancing defence and security collaboration.
As part of the visit, the First Deputy Minister also toured Leonardo S.p.A., Italy’s leading defence and aerospace company.
