On 23 June 2026, the fifth round of bilateral political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and the Italian Republic was held. The Georgian delegation was led by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, George Zurabashvili, while the Italian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Edmondo Cirielli.

On 22 February 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Tamara Liluashvili, addressed current issues related to Georgia–European Union relations in the framework of a meeting between the delegation of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and Member of the European Parliament Leoluca Orlando.

Within the framework of his official visit to the Italian Republic, the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Giorgi Jincharadze, held a meeting with the Mayor of Palermo, Roberto Lagalla.

On 19 February 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of San Marino, Tamar Liluashvili (resident in Rome), presented her Letters of Credence to Their Excellencies the Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino, Matteo Rossi and Lorenzo Bulli, at the Palazzo Pubblico.

In Rome, at the Naval Palace, Paata Patiashvili held a meeting with his Italian counterpart, Matteo Perego di Cremnago, to discuss key aspects of bilateral defence cooperation between Georgia and Italy.

On 17 February 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, Tamar Liluashvili, held a meeting with representatives of ITA Airways, Rita Gaglione and Giorgio Garbelli.

In figure skating, the pair Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava captured the silver medal.
