TEIMURAZ JANJALIA HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "SECURITY AND DEFENSE DAYS - 2023"

As part of his working visit to the Republic of Italy, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Teimuraz Janjalia, participated in the international conference "Security and Defense Days - 2023" organized by De Gasperi Foundation and Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies.

Teimuraz Janjalia gave a speech at the panel " Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova: interconnections, criticalities, and future prospects ", which was also attended by Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi and the Secretary of State for Defense of Moldova, Valeriu Mija. In his speech, Teimuraz Janjalia talked about the foreign political priorities of Georgia, the reforms implemented in the country and the security environment. The Deputy Minister paid special attention to Georgia-EU and Georgia-NATO relations and the irreversibility of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration process. Teimuraz Janjalia informed the audience about Georgia’s progress in this regard and the importance of granting Georgia the status of a candidate country. 

The Deputy Minister emphasized the strategically important location of Georgia and its role in the context of connectivity between the West and the East, trade and economic potential, energy and transport infrastructure projects. Teimuraz Janjalia spoke at length about the security challenges facing the Black Sea and provided the conference participants with detailed information about the difficult situation in the occupied territories of Georgia, the illegal actions of the Russian occupying forces and various threats posed by Russia.
